Asian Auto Repair was founded by Gary Finch in 1985.
As a child, Gary spent his days taking things apart and figuring out how and why they worked. As a young teen he experimented with his parents cars. With his sisters boyfriends help, built a go cart and mini bike. This is where he started learning about the internal combustion engine.
 

  When Gary graduated high school 1968 he went on to Junior College and then transfered to Los Angles Trade Tech Junior College where he learned Automotive Technology from the ground up.
 

  After graduating in 1972 he then moved to the Santa Barbara area and was the second automotive technician hired at the brand new Toyota dealership in Goleta. This is where he continued to learn to use computer based diagnostic tools, deepening his knowledge of the automobile and applying his talent specifically to the Toyota line of cars.

  As time progressed, Gary and his wife wished to buy a house and make a home. In 1978 he applied and was hired at the then family run Spring Toyota in San Luis Obispo and made their home in Atascadero. By 1984 Gary was determined to open a business that would truly offer value to the community. He promised himself to always provide value and outstanding service, regardless of how large his business grew.

  Gary opened Asian Auto in 1985. Since then he has been providing excellent service and offering outstanding value to neighbors throughout San Luis Obispo County.
